The engagement shoot.
With their killer fashion sense, Hannah and Obi hit the streets.
First of all, can we just say daaaaaaaaammmn … because Hannah and Obi’s style is off the charts. We can’t get enough of their red shoe and camo combo. And so many amazing Des Moines locations visited. Kendra at KMP Photography found another take on this city that we have never seen. Love it all!
Never say never.
You never know where or how you’ll meet the special someone. And with technology today, it can be very untraditional.
“I said I would NEVER meet a guy online, let alone my husband,” Hannah told us. “But here we are. Thank goodness for technology, and Bumble, specifically,” Hannah laughs.
After many dates and great memories later, Obi was ready to propose. They had a busy weekend, and by the end of it, Hannah was exhausted. “All I wanted was to order pizza and be in sweats!” Instead, Obi insisted they go to their first date night restaurant. As soon as they sat down, Obi couldn’t stop professing his love for Hannah. Without warning, he stood up and asked Hannah to stand too. Hannah thought, “Wait, you begged me to come on a date, and now we’re leaving before we even order?!” In an instant, Obi was on one knee and was asking Hannah to marry him. She said YES, and the restaurant erupted! The rest of the night was spent sharing their exciting news.
Fun. Friends. And Family.
Your big day is about so much more than what flowers you’ll have or location you’ll pick. The memories are made with ALL the people you love, and Hannah and Obi did just that.
The couple knew they wanted their day centered around friends and family. So they started with a sunrise wedding at the Botanical center, quickly followed by brunch at Vino209 and a party at Smash Park. “We had a ball!” ;) Hannah told us. It was all to enjoy a fun-filled day with the people they love.
The “new” look of wedding attire.
If you couldn’t tell by Hannah and Obi’s engagement shoot (then definitely go in for another look!!!) these two have style. We are gaga over this bridal jumpsuit, not to mention the colorful interior fabric on Obi’s suit jacket.
And we have to talk about that jumpsuit! When we saw Hannah in it, we were dying! It’s a beautiful modern take on a wedding dress. “And, better yet, it only cost $78!” Hannah told us. And now we were on the floor. Stunned. And Stunning. We love that Hannah broke tradition and followed her sense of style.
Finding the right pros is a must!
For Hannah and Obi it was all about capturing amazing shots of their day. When you find a wedding professional that clicks with you, it makes it just that much more special.
“We could write an entire essay on how incredible it was to work with Kendra and KMP Photography,” Hannah said. From their engagement (see the photos online!), to their wedding day, she exceeded every expectation. Along with Leah Rose Productions for video and The Rustic Rose with a gorgeous bouquet, Hannah’s dream for her day was complete.
Planning a marriage not a wedding.
Listen to your friends and family who have been there before. They usually have some good pieces of advice.
“Some of the best advice we clung to while planning for our wedding was, ‘Spend more time preparing for the marriage than you do planning for the wedding day,’” It’s so true. We love that Hannah and Obi lived that throughout the process and it showed in all the time they were able to spend with the people that matter most.
