School days love.
We love a good proposal, and the way Landon totally surprised Kiera will be remember both by them and at their college for years to come.
Freshman year of college Kiera and Landon began to run into each other a lot throughout their pre-med program. Between classes and mutual friends, they saw each other all the time. It wasn't until they left the country for a study abroad program in Costa Rica that they really got to know one another. And as they say, the rest was history.
Because both Kiera and Landon are medical students, their lives continue to keep them on their toes. The proposal was a huge surprise for Kiera who was specializing to be a foot and ankle surgeon, she always wanted to see an open-heart surgery. With that in mind, Landon went to work planning their special moment. Early one morning, Landon set up a shadowing opportunity to watch an open-heart surgery. “At the end of the surgery, Landon pretended to faint, and when I went to help him, he was on one knee!” said the bride.
The planning begins.
It was the tradition that made Kiera and Landon’s day special.
With a classic garden-themed wedding, they wanted something that would remain timeless and memorable. The traditions between their families were also on display throughout their big day. Kiera’s family always had cigars at major events, so what better way to keep the tradition going than a cigar bar at the reception. She also wore her great grandmother’s ring as her ‘something old.’ “She passed away when I was young, but she was with me on my wedding day,” said Kiera. And both of their fathers are firemen, so they had an antique firetruck outside with their dad’s bunker coats to bring their families together as one.

The right pros are everything. Kiera and Landon worked with local businesses that could help keep all the planning under control with their busy school schedules.
Their busy lives waited for no one, especially on their wedding day. As busy medical students, any time they get to spend with each other is precious and they wanted vendors who could help them focus on time with each other, family, and friends. “Our photographer, Grace, answered all my calls and emails to offer so much reassurance to create the timeline for the whole day,” said Kiera. And with the phenomenal work of Bella Flora Event Design, they created flower arrangements that made Kiera's dreams come true. “They even had the bouquets ready early so I could make any last minute’s changes if I wanted to.” Kiera and Landon’s day was filled with love and happiness because of their friends and family coming together to celebrate their love. And none of this could have been possible if it was not for the help they had along the way.
