Not So Secretly OBSESSED — The Perfect Fit
Yes we obsess over the perfect dress, but you also need the perfect fit! Kanya, of Designed by Kanya Marie gives us tips to make sure you're ready to walk down the aisle.
Plan for your the best fit.
Once you have your dress, you're halfway there. Most alterations take at least 4 – 6 weeks. If there's a lot of detail, beads or lace, it could take up to 8 weeks. So it's best to know who will be doing the altering and schedule it before it arrives. And when you go, don't forget your shoes! Whatever you plan to wear under your dress, you'll want to wear them to adjust the skirt to the correct length.
One less thing to stress about.
Kanya wants her brides to de-stress when
they see her. Yes there can be unexpected
challenges, but she always tells her brides "There's always a solution." So don't stress
and let her help.
Or start with custom.
Yes there's a lot out there, but if you can't find what you like, you can always go custom. It sounds expensive, but working with a designer from the start doesn't have to be more extravagant than what's ready to order from a store. Kanya Marie will work with you to understand the silhouette you like and how clothes fit your shape. Moving from sketch, to fabric, to fit, she can create your one-of-a-kind dress.
