Katie met Victor through a mutual friend after he had transferred to Iowa State University. After being friends for a little over a year, they began dating. Victor definitely caught Katie off guard when he proposed. It was December 4th, which to most is probably just another day, but to these two it is the night before shotgun deer season starts. They decided to have an early dinner and a quiet night in, so Victor could be ready for his big hunting day. As soon as they came home, Victor asked Katie to be his wife. She was very surprised and of course said yes.
They decided to be engaged for just 6 months. Katie enlisted the help of White Willow Events to help plan her special day. Although she used Pinterest for a little inspiration, Taylor Boesen (White Willow Events) helped hand pick vendors to really pull her dream day off.
While reflecting on her wedding day, Katie couldn’t just pick one memorable moment. “The whole day was perfect so it’s hard to pick one memorable moment,” she said. Victor had never been told exactly what to do during cake cutting, so he began eating his portion of the cake before realizing he was suppose to share with Katie. They sharing dancing, laughs, and fun with all their guests and it surely did make their day absolutely perfect!
Katie’s biggest piece of advice to anyone planning a wedding is to really enjoy being engaged. The time goes fast and it is “magical.”
